Terryanne WeekesWith type 2 diabetes on both sides of my family, my Doctor suggested that I took control of my health to reduce the risk of developing the disease myself. I never took these words seriously.
Living a busy lifestyle and being a shift worker I found myself fuelling my body with a lot of crap, which resulted in me looking and feeling like crap. My weight gain was significant and drastic. I didn’t realise at the time the impact it was having on my life and health. There were days I was so lazy I didn’t get out of bed until the start of my working shift and this also resulted in me grabbing more unhealthy food on the run. It was a vicious cycle. I have always struggled with weight gain and yo-yo diets. I only ever lasted a few weeks before crashing again. I tried prescription medication to suppress my appetite and was even considering surgery. I was always looking for a quick fix with minimum effort. I got my wake up call one morning when I jumped on the scales. I was shocked with what I was seeing. I took this very seriously as I was not heading into seeing three digits and it was time to make some lifelong lifestyle changes. The only way I was going to achieve this was to get a coach. After seeing another persons successful weight loss I put myself in touch with Mick. Feeling very nervous I made an appointment for a consultation (there was no backing out) and I signed up for the K12 class. My first day to start exercise I had lots of mixed feelings and I could of been physically sick with nerves. This was all new to me as I had never done any form of exercise before besides walking. I’m amazed how easy Mick’s program is to follow and the support Mick gave me, treating me as an individual and not a number. Mick has shown me how to exercise the correct way and gives me lots of encouragement. To date I’m 15 weeks into the program and 16kg lighter! I’m so much more motivated. I love going to K12 each week and I never thought I could ever achieve what I have so far and enjoy doing it at the same time. I could never have done this without the awesome Mick at Kudos Health and I am ever so grateful I have found him as I’m starting to see my transformation and my hard work paying off. My journey so far has been nothing but enjoyable and I never thought I would see the day that I would say I love to exercise. Terryanne Weekes |
