Jacquie BrazelWhen I was 42 I saw a photo of myself and God was I shocked. I didn’t realise how big I had gotten. This was when I knew it was time for me to finally do something about it.
The first thing I tried was walking, but even this was too hard on my ankles and knees. I knew I needed help, and that’s when I made the life changing decision to contact Kudos Health. Since then I have never looked back! In my first training session I weighed in at 103kg. I was extremely unfit, couldn’t even walk on a treadmill, my knees gave me grief when I attempted squats and lunges, and I had no core strength whatsoever. In that first session I was so out of shape I thought I was going to die. Every muscle in my body was aching and I felt like I had been taken to hell and back! I remember saying to my trainer, “I can’t do this”. He simply said that he didn’t believe me. “Strong mind, strong body”, he casually replied. He said to me that it was my mind that had been letting me down, and that my body was a lot more capable than my mind gave it credit for. Something in me at that very moment clicked! I thought to myself that maybe I could do this. I finished that session absolutely exhausted, yet had never felt so proud or good about myself. I had worked my butt off (well not yet!) I soon after began training with KH more regularly, and with their friendly push during sessions and helpful nutritional guidance, the weight started to fall off. Previously I had taken medication for lower back problems that are now gone due to me carrying around less weight. I also had asthma that use to play up regularly, that has not been an issue since starting my training. I previously ate less frequently and binged on unhealthy foods. KH has taught me to eat smaller, more frequent meals to reduce my cravings. Almost 2 years on and I am currently 60kg, and have never felt better! My health and fitness journey is far from over, and I continue to benefit from the friendly support, advice and guidance from the team at Kudos Health. My entire lifestyle has been transformed and I am forever grateful. Thank You, Jacqueline Brazel |
