Leanne RankinCan you change your thinking in 90 days?
I believe you can. I know because I have experienced it myself. Mick Davies, my Health Coach suggested I take time out of my busy life to really look at my health. I had already spent almost two years training with him and had improved my fitness as well as losing 20 kilos. We scheduled a weekly health coaching session, discussing goals and what motivated me, usually leaving me with a little homework to work on or at least think about. Each session had a theme and structure. I was challenged into thinking differently, planning what I could achieve in that 90 days. My willpower and self respect had certainly diminished over the years. Losing 20 kilos had helped but the same old thought process was my real enemy. Each session gave me a new perspective of the usual subjects such as stress, foods, exercising but the main difference was that we were talking one on one, like you would to a friend. I found myself opening up and really searching within, attempting to change my thoughts and behaviours. One of the changes was to exercise 5 days a week and I have successfully managed that, combining my gym sessions with walking. I have surprised myself with the commitment to walking, getting up early and varying the route some days. I have become more aware of my surroundings, enjoying seeing new places and being outdoors. Towards the end of the 12-week program, I had a defining moment, which I attribute to this health coaching. I had always thought that if I lost lots of weight I would be a happier and better person, a more attractive woman. I realised that the way I looked wasn’t what kept me “stuck”, but that my negative thinking was the real problem and this was a huge turning point for me. Through the coaching I have become a lot more positive, focused, making better decisions & choices. I am extremely grateful to Mick for helping me find the real me, inside myself. I wholeheartedly recommend Health Coaching with Mick at Kudos Health, not just for the weight loss factor but also for the other benefits of goal setting, enhancing self-respect and self-confidence and modifying destructive behaviours. The program was very helpful and Mick, as the facilitator was excellent. Leanne Rankin |
