I recently participated in the The Kudos Health LIFTED program, as I have been working on ways to improve my mental health.
What I really loved about the 2.5 hour session was the way Mick was able to bring together so much of the research and evidence that supports good mental health practices into the themes of gratitude, mindfulness, self talk, movement and breathing.
As we moved through each of the themes we were given opportunities to reflect and learn practical strategies in each of the areas. It was perfect for people who are just starting on a journey to improve their mental health and reduce stress. For people with a little more experience of mindfulness, it was a great reminder of why it is so important to value and look after your mental health.
A key take away for me was Mick’s phrase, ‘Move out of our thinking mind and drop into our sensing mind’. The session showed us how easy it is to actually do this and it doesn’t mean meditating for hours! The 7 day kickstart has encouraged us to practice at home using the tools Mick gave us.
It was an extremely valuable 2.5 hours and I can highly recommend it.
