As a 47 yo single mum to a 16yo son, who has worked full-time most my life, I have experienced stress, anxiety, and depression a few times in my life.
I have been to numerous counsellors, therapists, doctors, psychologists. I didn’t find any of them helpful. They wanted to focus on the “event“ that happened to get me to their office. That was the last thing I wanted to discuss: what was making life miserable!
I had been training with Mick for many years and reached out to him in desperation.
He booked me in for one of his Health Coaching appts. It was literally life changing. When the LIFTED seminar was advertised, I was excited to attend.
Mick’s coaching doesn’t discuss the bad stuff that has happened. We talk about the good things. There is acknowledgement that bad stuff is always going to happen in life, but the way we deal with it can change the way it affects us.
Mick gave me different techniques to deal with difficult situations. Got me into a routine of being aware of how I am feeling and finding the joy in the small accomplishments.
I have always been someone to worry about what could happen in 3 months time or thinking about the next task I have to do while working on another one . Be here now – 3 tiny words that are so important, that make you stop and realise that this moment now is what needs to be focused on. No one can control what happens in the future. We can only control how we react to things.
Mick’s coaching encourages you to be kind to yourself. So often we are too quick to criticise ourselves and focus on the mistakes we have made. Gratitude – be grateful for what you have in your life. The people, experiences, possessions, memories, health.
The things that help us raise our happiness default are from within. They are the small things that we tend to overlook looking for a huge “bang” that will make us better.
Consistency is key. I have found that consistently following Mick’s techniques has made me a calmer person. I stress less about things that are out of my control. My anxiety about work has all but disappeared. My family and friends have also commented on my new calm.
Mick’s health coaching has made a huge impact and positive shift to my life. I highly recommend Mick to family, friends, and colleagues
