When I started the 6 weeks to cultivate calm sessions with Mick I was in a constant state of stress. Decisions, reactions and general thinking were governed by stress and I had accepted it as the new normal. Mick helped me identify stress as a common occurrence for many, but with certain strategies and ways of thinking we can ensure it doesn’t take over us.
Mick has an understanding and compassionate approach making each phone session comfortable and informative without triggering any overwhelming anxiety feelings. The stress mountain became easier to face and soon enough climb as we journeyed through the strategies of managing stressful responses and how they related to my personal experiences.
Each week provided new insights into how stress presents in our body and new ways to approach it in both preventative and reactionary ways, building an arsenal of tools. Whilst I still climb my mountain most days, I feel armed with methods to make my journey less mentally exhausting, allowing me to approach my day, each moment, more positively. Resetting when necessary, telling stress to take a hike and appreciating the smaller things by remaining present.
The program provides an excellent reset. An opportunity to reflect on responses, how to recognise stress for what it is, and how to better accommodate for those moments when life feels out of control. Through Mick’s 6 weeks to cultivate calm workshop, I have regained confidence to take on those difficult situations, allowed myself to be vulnerable and regained joy in certain areas of my life. If you’ve ever found yourself doubting yourself as you navigate life’s ongoing conflicting responsibilities, talk to Mick about cultivating calm.
Thank you
